What is Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)?
CBT is a structured, goal-oriented form of psychotherapy that helps you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours are interconnected. It is the best type of psychological treatment to receive for anxiety and mood-related problems, and over decades of research has been conclusively demonstrated to be as effective at treating anxiety as the most effective medications, without the side-effects.
Through practical strategies, it teaches you to:
Identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts.
Develop healthier coping mechanisms and strategies
Understand how specific anxiety problems work and are maintained.
Break free from negative cycles that can contribute to anxiety or
depression.
We offer a range of CBT-focused services, including:
Treatment for Anxiety: Overcome OCD (including H-OCD, R-OCD, P-OCD etc), generalised anxiety, persistent worry, panic attacks, social anxiety, health anxiety, trauma including PTSD, and specific phobias, using targeted techniques.
Therapy for Stress and Depression: Learn to disrupt negative thought patterns and build resilience against depressive episodes.
Specialist, in-depth knowledge and experience in treating anxiety disorders: Our therapists are trained and experienced in understanding and treating nuanced anxiety problems, such as βPureβ O, rumination, distressing intrusive thoughts etc. Having a therapist who actually understands how these processes work and how to treat them using evidence-based psychological techniques significantly improves client outcomes and reduce anxiety.
Online CBT Sessions: Enjoy the flexibility of accessing therapy with specialist clinicians from anywhere with our virtual services.

Frequently Asked Questions
What conditions does our clinic offer CBT for?
Our practice has a particular specialism in treating OCD, but each of our therapists has their own areas of interest and expertise in treating anxiety, mood and related difficulties. We are mainly an adult practice, but do have some child and adolescent specialists working in the clinic. CBT has been demonstrated to be a highly effective treatment for anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, social anxiety, panic attacks, emetophobia, specific phobias etc, and we offer treatment for all of these difficulties. Many of the clients we see may not present with specific anxiety disorders, but may be struggling with sleep, work-related stress, life stressors or other difficulties. We devise personalised treatment strategies with our clients based on their needs, as well as evidence-based treatments of these problems.
How long does therapy take?
The duration varies based on individual needs, but CBT is typically a short-term, pragmatic therapy which typically ranges from 6β20 sessions. There is no contract so you can stop the sessions at any point you wish to, and can also continue sessions for longer should this be beneficial.
Can I do therapy online?
Yes! We pivoted from face-to-face working during the pandemic, and have not gone back, due to convenience and reach of online working. As well as the convenience of being able to receive high-quality therapy from the comfort of your home, an additional benefit is that this also allows us to work with some of our clients on actively tackling issues around the home which may be impacted by anxiety.
